Love It: Freak Shows

September 7, 2009

Since I currently live equidistant between the town center of nerdville, Silicon Valley, and the hippie playgrounds of San Francisco and Santa Cruz, it’s not rare to see freaks of many varieties, from men driving combo van-pickup trucks covered in massive stuffed animals (this is another post altogether) to engineers always finding the absolute best way to do things…you see all types in these parts.  Particularly, the level of nerdom that reached in Silicon Valley is, most likely, unmatched in any other part of the country.  Case in point, this man seen in the airport recently:

Yes, you are viewing this image correctly.  That is a man pushing a small child in a stroller with a car seat on his head.  WTF?  I mean I realize that there weren’t a lot of options for placement of said car seat, but why not check it?  Further, if this is the method you have to resort to, maybe you should just sit down and wait for your flight.  I mean, really.  This guy was roaming back and forth, clearly out of utter boredom because his insanely intelligent overactive brain wouldn’t let him rest, pointlessly.  He could have EASILY sat down and avoided this scenario altogether.  My guess is that he is an engineer at Symantec or some tiny startup and clearly wanted to find the most efficient way to carry his baby’s accessories while still being mobile.  Genius, no?

Scarily, this isn’t the weirdest thing I’ve seen here.  There are plenty more where that came from.  So…wait for it…more to come.  In the meantime, remember, I love, love, love freak shows.  There is nothing more entertaining.  I guess I’m in the perfect place!

yeh he looks like an idiot..

why is he wearing it on his head.. the only thing i can think of is that the kid will need to sit during the flight.
