Love it: Booze.

Ok I did that title for effect.  This is not a trashy booze post.  I’ve been having a bit of a busy week so didn’t get a chance to read my lovely co-bloggers’ posts until now.  And to recap what’s been covered:  puppies, flowers, cards (albeit, ironic ones but cards nonetheless), mommy wagons and puppies.  The only things missing from this list are world peace and Santa Claus.

SOOOO to mix things up, I would like to cover my current bev of choice which is not just Booze, but Pimm’s Cup.  You heard me.

Pimm’s.  What’s that? Glad you asked.  It is a British drink preferred at various high brow British field sports (and also Wimbledon, not a field sport).  Created in the 1840s by a man not surprisingly named James Pimm, when he mixed his gin with quinnine and some herbs.  What is it really?  A refreshing summery beverage that is crisp, light and easy to drink.  I’ve been drinking it as my fancy pants drink as of late, and have particularly enjoyed it now that the long days of summer are starting to grow shorter and I’m reminded that summer has disappeared from here without anyone realizing it.

There are a million ways to make Pimm’s and everyone has their own recipe, but this one is one from the folks over at Food Network. Enjoy, cheers and toodleloo, puppy lovers and flower fans!  XOXO LOVE IT.


  • Ice cubes
  • 2 ounces Pimms Number 1 Cup
  • 6 ounces ginger ale
  • 2 ounces lemon lime soda or club soda
  • 1/4 cup cucumber pieces or 1 cucumber spear


Put ice in a highball glass or mug. Add the Pimms and then the ginger ale and soda. Stir and garnish with cucumber. Serve.

    YES! I loooove Pimm’s. I just drink mine with lemonade. 🙂

    i love pimms! i tried it at Oxford and died, they spliced it with lots of mint and strawberry.
